Motivation to either give up or keep going?

From T. H. L. Parker’s Calvin’s Preaching (1992): “I would put forward the hypothesis that Calvin took a Hebrew or Greek text into the pulpit and translated as he went along, just as he did for his lectures” (177).

I think what Paul has been trying to say in the last two posts is that the reason we haven’t been writing much here at ET lately is that, unlike those fluffy pastors out there who take an English translation into the pulpit, we have been following in the footsteps of Calvin. And that takes time. Did I get that about right, Paul?

Oh, but the reason Caleb has been so quiet is because of the debacle in San Diego this past Sunday.

If i took a Hebrew or Greek text into the pulpit it would def. make for a nice SHORT sermon. :)

The Bears D was amazing. The offense was just average. 4 TO’s on the road equals a slow and painful death. We will get on track this week.

    Preach the Word tomorrow brothers
